Our Esteemed Members

Though the credentials and abilities of each of the representatives of the PNC have not been separately provided, it is stated with confidence that the Pakistan National Committee of the IUCN is represented ably by individuals who are specialists in their fields and greatly enrich its deliberations and services. Over the past 25 years, some eminent Pakistanis have been elected to significant responsibilities in IUCN at the global and regional level and have served in these positions with distinction. They include:

  • Syed Babar Ali, a distinguished corporate leader and entrepreneur who also served as caretaker Federal Minister in 1993 and contributed to IUCN as Vice President, Regional Councillor and Treasurer.
  • Dr. Parvez Hassan, a leading lawyer of Pakistan, who was elected Chairman of the IUCN Commission on Environmental Law, (1990 - 1996) and contributed to the IUCN as a Regional Councillor.
